Be Steadfast in the Work of the Lord

The Apostle Paul writes in the book of 1 Corinthians 15:57-58 (NKJV) “But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.”

According to the Apostle Paul, God has given us, the true disciples of Jesus Christ, the victory over death through the promise of eternal life. Due this previous fact, we are to be steadfast, morally fixed and firm, and immovable, always at all times abounding, increasing, excelling, in the work of the Lord. Know that our labor, the work we do for the Lord, is not in vain, empty, and for nothing. Our work, labor, toil, and trouble for which we suffer and get beat up by the hands of sinners and evildoers often time results in weariness.

Rest assured that our labor is not in vain and continue in the work the Lord has called us to do. Remember the words of the Apostle Paul in his letter to the churches of Galatia when he wrote Galatians 6:9-10 saying, “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.”

Rise up and stand steadfast in the Lord. Let us as true disciples of Jesus Christ not grow weary and faint in doing and performing what is honest, fair, good, and right for all mankind. Do good to all people, that which is morally right, profitable and beneficial, both for sinners and especially for those of the household of faith. For in the proper and due time, appropriate and appointed season we shall reap a harvest limited in this life but completely fulfilled at the judgment seat of Christ (2 Cor. 5:9-11).
